Are you a beach volleyball player who is interested in wines? Beach&Wine is unique blend of beach volleyball and exploring Canarian and especially Tenerife wines. Salud!

Beach&Wine is week designed by beach volley and wine enthusiasts. Tenerife has extraordinary wines which reflect the diversity of climates found here, with the complication that this can change even within a single region. Tenerife is the main producer of Canarian wines. Its vineyards host a rich viticultural heritage, with native vines grown on volcanic soil. During the Beach&Wine week we experience wines that are selected with care from Tenerife’s five wine regions but also other Canarian wines.

BEACH VOLLEY AND OTHER SPORT ACTIVITIES
Mornings and noons are dedicated to beach volley and other sport activities. Practices will be held by our experienced coaches on Beachboard Haciendas top conditions. If you want to invite your spouse or friend who is not a beach volley player, it is not a problem: we have planned other activities including guided sport and relaxation program including a morning walk in Rambla de Castro coastal area, stretching and relaxation, yoga/pilates, guided gym sessions and introduction to beach sports: beach volley and beach tennis.

WINE ACTIVITIES
Afternoons and evenings include wine tastings, presentations and workshops at Hacienda and optional excursions to hand-picked wineries and restaurants. Our camp program includes three wine related activities. Other optional wine activities are available at additional cost.

1) Welcoming dinner at Hacienda and the first tasting of Tenerife wines.
In our first tasting session, we will learn the basics of Tenerife wines under the guidance of our own wine expert Laura Paija and enjoy a tasty dinner at Hacienda

2) Tapas and Canarian Wines at Hacienda.
In the next evening, we will get to know the wines of Canary Islands more extensively under the guidance of our friend and wine bar owner Jacinto Hernandez or his team Yori Kunnen and Jochem Van Beek. Jacinto is also the Ambassador of Canarian wines by title. We will discover the distinct qualities of the certain high range wines from all seven Canary Islands: single grape wines and examples of small productions. We have picked the best tapas and complimentary pairing of wines in this magical evening setup at Beachboard Hacienda.

3) Barbecue evening with Tenerife wines
To conclude the perfect week, on the last evening we will celebrate the end of the camp with barbecue evening accompanied by hand-picked Tenerife wines.

COACHING STAFF AND WINE EXPERTS

Veijo Sievilä, the administrator and co-owner of Beachboard Hacienda holds a master degree in sport administration and over 20 years work experience inside activity tourism, recreation, events, wellness clubs and sports installations. He is fluent in Finnish, English and Portuguese and has a good level of Spanish. He loves hosting, guiding and instructing guests of all ages and spreads his passions for beach sports, Tenerife and active life style. With his background of living already almost five years in Tenerife and managing a small tour operator in 2019-2020, he holds a vast information about the island and is happy to reveal his secrets to our guests.

Laura Paija has a long experience in the world of wines. The hobby that started in the 1990s turned into a profession in 2005, which was the start of a 15-year amazing journey in wine imports and marketing. Now wines have returned as a beloved hobby, where the joy and the challenge comes from matching the food and wine. Laura has completed the international Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Advanced Certificate.

Heikki Paija, beach volley coach and co-owner of Beachboard Hacienda.
Heikki has a long experience in coaching. His athletes have represented Finland in European championships in U20 and U22 categories. His personal achievements as a player include several podium positions in masters games: Several time Finnish champion in different masters age categories, European champion in European Masters Games (45+), and silver medalist in World master Games (50+). Heikki is also certified sports massage therapist and holds Peak Pilates instructor training certificate.

TAFURIASTE - THE AUTHENTIC WINE AND LOCAL CUISINE EXPERIENCE

Visit the high-quality local winery Tafuriaste, where the Director and owner, Manuel Luis Hernández (along with his team) will share the rich history and traditions of wine making in Tenerife. They will enthusiastically convey their passion and knowledge about the craft. Located just 4 kilometers from Beachboard Hacienda, Tafuriaste offers a unique opportunity to taste their wines and learn fascinating stories about how wineries once established small, unofficial restaurants called Guachinches to promote their wines in the past. We conclude the tour with an authentic dinner featuring traditional Canarian dishes, perfectly paired with a selection of Tafuriaste wines.

Join the training week as an individual player, with your family or collect your own group. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own group, we will divide the groups based on the levels of the players. Maximum number of players for each training group is 8.
